Addressing Customer Needs
The Company primarily pursues a strategy of service differentiation, and secondarily a strategy of cost leadership.
Safety: Public authorities have cited the Company's drug and safety programs as an example for the industry. Pottle's was named the Grand Champion for companies with over 3 million miles in 2003 by the Maine Motor Transport Association. Pottle's received the Truckload Carriers Association's First Place 5-15 Million-Mile Safety Award for its national division in 2000 and 1996, Third Place 5-15 Million Mile Safety Award for its national division in 1997, First Place 15-25 Million Mile Safety Award for its national division in 1998, and Second Place 5-15 Million Mile Safety Award for its national division in 1999. We have also received Safety awards from Maine Motor Transport Association for the years 1993 through 1999 and awarded the Grand Trophy Award for Safety in 1995. In 1999, one of our Company drivers, Paul Barnes, was awarded Company Equipment Driver of the Year by the Truckload Carriers Association. Mr. Barnes has driven over 3.2 million miles without an accident or moving violation.
Coverage: Providing a high degree of tractor and trailer availability to the majority of the shipper's origin points.
Administrative Services: Friendly and courteous dispatchers team up with our truck drivers to generate consistent on-time performance with safety in mind and attention to special customer needs. Ability to meet the shipper's EDI and other critical administrative needs. As new technology becomes available, Pottle's is committed to initiating a wider range of information exchanges with more shippers and building the Company into the information planning process of our major customers.
Brokerage Division: Brokerage division is designed to add new accounts and expand on present ones. Our brokerage division can integrate, manage and optimize your loads while helping you gain a competitive edge in your industry.
Expanded Service Offerings: Expanding our range of service offerings in designated lanes or for large customers, (i.e. direct store deliveries, offering multiple store stopoffs, service sensitive deliveries, yard switching services, trailer pools and specialized equipment).
Premium Service: Guaranteeing on time delivery or other guarantee of special services, usually in return for a higher rate or accessorial charges.
Customized or Special Services: Developing a series of special or customized services that meet a shipper's specific need.
Equipment Assignments: Providing a weekly, monthly or yearly dedicated assignment of tractors and / or trailers to a customer's facilities.
